In an evening filled with elegance, music and energy, the official opening of George, The Lobby Bar, the newest arrival at the historic King George Hotel, took place yesterday. Media representatives, figures from the business and arts world, friends and collaborators of the hotel had the opportunity to discover the new venue, which aspires to become a beloved meeting point for every moment of the day. From 18:00 until late at night, the event evolved into an atmospheric celebration, with DJ Harry Panou setting the rhythm and striking performers in theatrical costumes adding a cosmopolitan flourish to the evening.
Ideally located in the hotel lobby, with its own independent entrance, George is the perfect spot in the heart of the city for a morning espresso, a midday meeting or an after-work cocktail. Designed by the internationally acclaimed architectural studio Goddard Littlefair, the space blends neoclassical luxury with contemporary comfort, while carefully selected works of New Greek Art integrate seamlessly into the interiors, creating an elegant environment that reflects the pulse of Athens from dawn to late evening.
Throughout the evening, guests sampled signature cocktails and premium spirits crafted by the bar’s talented bartenders, paired with creative bites such as lobster mac & cheese, beef tartare éclairs and shrimp bao—offering a first taste of the fine drinking experience that defines the new venue.
The menu at George, curated by Michelin-starred chefs Asterios Koustoudis and Nikos Livadia, evolves throughout the day with offerings for breakfast, brunch and light lunch, all based on Greek ingredients, handcrafted pastries and a sustainable zero-waste philosophy.

Building on this momentum, George, The Lobby Bar now introduces DJ Thursdays: every Thursday, a special DJ party will bring energy to the city center, with the first event taking place on 4/12 at 18:00, featuring DJ Harry Panou.
