A Summer Night of Opera on the Argosaronic Coast.

Tombazis Estate presents a unique Lyric Evening on the beach of Galatas during the long weekend of the Holy Spirit. The historic estate, dating back to 1828, will welcome two distinguished Greek singers on the evening of May 31 at 21:00: soprano Dimitra Kotidou and mezzo-soprano Eleni Voudouraki. They will be accompanied on the piano by acclaimed pianist Markos Kotsias.

The programme will feature beloved arias from the operatic repertoire and classic songs by great composers, along with selected surprises from the Greek and international songbook.

More specifically, the two artists will perform arias and duets from 19th-century Italian and French opera, with works by Verdi, Puccini, Massenet, Bizet, Delibes and Offenbach. The evening will also include selected Baroque songs by Purcell and Dowland, songs by Ravel and Falla, and free improvisations based on Greek modes.

Dimitra Kotidou has already built an impressive career, performing leading roles in theatres across Germany, including the Queen of the Night in Barry Kosky’s acclaimed staging, as well as bel canto roles. Eleni Voudouraki’s career includes leading roles and symphonic concerts in major Greek venues and festivals. Her recent appearances include Timotheos Arvanitakis’ The Free Besieged, Journey to the Centre of Music with the Athens State Orchestra at the Athens Concert Hall, and the International Concert for Peace by the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra in Platres, Cyprus, for Europe Day on May 9, 2026.

The two artists also appeared together on stage as Violetta Valéry and Annina in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata during the Greek National Opera’s tour in China in September 2025.

The Lyric Evening at Tombazis Estate marks the first artistic event to take place at one of Greece’s most historic agricultural estates. The estate was the family home of Manolis Tombazis, commissioner of Crete and admiral of the Greek War of Independence of 1821.

Located on the Argosaronic coast opposite the island of Poros, Tombazis Estate occupies a unique seaside setting and is home to an award-winning organic olive grove, within a landscape of rare natural harmony.

One hour before the concert, guests will have the opportunity to tour the estate and visit the private Tombazis Estate Museum, which houses rare documents and objects from 1821. A welcome drink and finger food will be offered to guests and are included in the ticket price.
