Allspice: Where Ancient Cultures Meet Contemporary Art

A powerful fusion of ancient civilizations and modern artistic expression awaits you in Allspice | Michael Rakowitz & Ancient Cultures, presented by the Acropolis Museum and NEON. This groundbreaking exhibition explores the dialogue between antiquity and today through the work of internationally acclaimed artist Michael Rakowitz. His thought-provoking installations converse with rare artifacts from the Middle East and southeastern Mediterranean.

Curated by Professor Nikolaos Chr. Stampolidis and Elina Kountouri, the exhibition is free to visit in the Museum’s Temporary Exhibition Gallery through October 31, 2025. More information here.

August Full Moon at the Museum

Celebrate the mystical glow of the August full moon at the Acropolis Museum. On this special night, the museum will stay open from 9 a.m. to midnight (last entry at 11:30 p.m.), offering visitors the rare opportunity to explore the exhibitions under the moonlight. The second-floor restaurant will also remain open, serving exquisite dishes until midnight.

Friday & Saturday Nights at the Museum Restaurant

Every Friday and Saturday evening, the second-floor restaurant remains open until midnight, serving up an elegant menu rooted in traditional recipes and regional Greek products with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status. See the menu here.

Water is life—and myth. This guided tour explores how water shaped ancient Greek society, mythology, and public health. Led by museum archaeologists, the tour connects select objects from the permanent collection and the museum’s archaeological excavation.

Time Travelers: A Family Program Beneath the Acropolis

Children aged 8–12 and their parents are invited on a virtual journey through time and space beneath the Acropolis. Set in the museum’s archaeological excavation, this hands-on program challenges families to uncover clues and help a long-lost ancient household find its favorite rooms and objects.
