Honouring the Past, Shaping the Museum of Tomorrow.

The Museum of Cycladic Art hosted a special evening on Thursday, May 14, at The Wallace Collection in London.

Marking 40 years since its founding, the Museum of Cycladic Art is entering a new chapter in its history: a “Metamorphosis” that will renew its physical presence, create a cultural landmark in Athens and redefine the way a museum of the future should operate.

The event brought together 160 distinguished members of the younger generation of London’s Greek community, which has long supported the Museum’s work. Representatives from the worlds of art, business and fashion, as well as sponsors, donors and supporters of the Museum, attended the evening.

The event was hosted by Dimitris Chandris, Member of the Board of Directors of the Museum of Cycladic Art, together with Katherine Embiricos, Head of International Development at the Museum. Prince John Michael Radziwill, Philippos and Marianna Lemos, Lydia Chandris, Prince Philippos de Grèce, and Giannis and Maya Martinos also attended and supported the evening.

Guests were welcomed by Sandra Marinopoulou, President and CEO of the Museum, Titina Patera, Vice President, and the rest of the Board of Directors.

The evening aimed to support the Museum’s landmark “Metamorphosis” project, which is set to be completed in 2027.

The event took place at The Wallace Collection, housed in Hertford House, a national museum home to one of the world’s most celebrated collections, featuring outstanding masterpieces from the history of art.
