The beloved concert series Jazz at the Museum by the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation returns with a renewed program under the thematic title “Her Voice”, highlighting female artistic expression across genres. This season, jazz blends with classical music, lyrical vocals, and other forms that reflect the enduring power of musical art.
On Friday, November 14, acclaimed pianist and composer Stathis Anninos invites the dynamic and multifaceted performer Katerina Polemi for the concert “Sounds of the World” — a musical journey from Greece to Brazil and beyond, shaped by diverse sounds and global influences.
With his eclectic quartet and Polemi’s magnetic stage presence, the performance creates a colorful soundscape that transcends borders and genres. Together with a renowned group of musicians, they promise an evening full of emotion, joy, and musical storytelling — revealing all that unites us through song and rhythm.
The Artists
- Stathis Anninos is an established pianist and composer known for his collaborations with leading Greek artists such as Dionysis Savvopoulos, Nikos Xydakis, and Evanthia Reboutsika. His work spans theater and cinema, while his debut album “Anthology” (2022) has been praised for its lyrical depth and musical narrative.
- Katerina Polemi, a musician, composer, and performer, trained at Berklee College of Music. She has composed music for theater and film and has appeared on iconic stages including Carnegie Hall and the Athens Megaron. She has collaborated with major figures of the Greek music scene such as Stavros Xarchakos and Dimitra Galani.
