Landmarks of Connection: A Visual Journey Through Beloved Urban Destinations.

In an evening filled with art, vibrancy, and visual storytelling, the opening of “Landmarks of Connection”, a photography exhibition by LAMDA Development, took place on Monday, June 30th at the iconic Former Public Tobacco Factory.

Running from July 1st to July 20th, the exhibition offers visitors a new lens on familiar urban destinations—shopping malls, marinas, and the landmark project of The Ellinikon—destinations created by LAMDA that are integral to modern urban life. The exhibition seeks to tell the story of how these places become living spaces—sites of personal meaning and shared experience.

For the first time, seven prominent Greek photographers—Dionysis Andrianopoulos, Yiorgis Yerolymbos, Efi Gousi, Pygmalion Karatzas, Nikos Kontostavlakis, Marianna Bisti, and Ria Mort—capture the same subjects from unique perspectives. Their images reimagine these destinations as points of connection and interaction. The result is 70 photographs that narrate deeply human stories.

The exhibition is a visual extension of the collector’s edition photo book “LAMDA Development Universe”, also unveiled at the opening. This special edition reflects the company’s vision for a renewed relationship with the urban environment and the ways we experience and shape it. The publication and exhibition are curated by journalist Fotis Tsimelas.

The opening event was attended by the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr. Nikitas Kaklamanis, who inaugurated the exhibition, the Deputy Governor of Attica, Ms. Christina Kefalogianni, and notable figures from the arts, culture, academia, business, and media.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Kaklamanis stated:

“This exhibition stands as yet another open invitation from art and culture to society and humanity—a visual universe crafted through photographic tesserae by renowned artists. These elements build an organic system that fosters interaction, creative dialogue, and meaningful reflection.”

He added:

“It is a compelling and balanced photographic narrative grounded in creative polyphony,” and congratulated LAMDA Development and the photographers for the outstanding result.

Sissy Iliopoulou, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at LAMDA Development, noted:

“At LAMDA, we believe the city is a living organism—a canvas of human interaction, experience, and vision. That’s why we aim to create places that inspire. Through ‘Landmarks of Connection,’ we want to narrate life in the city as seen through the eyes of seven distinguished Greek photographers. This exhibition is more than a visual proposal—it is an invitation to see the city differently.”

Curator and art critic Takis Mavrotas, who introduced the exhibition, remarked:

“The exhibition and photo book by LAMDA Development distinguish themselves through visual excellence, capturing new truths and reconciling dreams with reality. The work of the seven photographers eloquently and accessibly records memories across space and time, inviting the imagination to wander.”

From panoramic views to subtle details, from daily urban scenes to intimate moments of human connection, the photographs in “Landmarks of Connection” encourage us to reconsider the ordinary and reflect on what links us to each other—and to the spaces we inhabit.

The exhibition is made possible through the generous provision of the venue by the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr. Nikitas Kaklamanis.
