The Cycladic Identity initiative continues into its second phase, preserving the
unique heritage of the Cyclades.
The Cycladic Identity Initiative, led by the Museum of Cycladic Art, enters its second phase, aiming to preserve the unique cultural and natural heritage of the Cyclades. This phase supports seven new programs across five islands: Amorgos, Antiparos, Sikinos, Sifnos, Syros, and an inter-Cycladic trail project. Programs focus on diverse themes such as traditional games, dry-stone craftsmanship, flora documentation, cultural song preservation, and architectural restoration. Funded projects, selected by a specialized committee, promote local culture, biodiversity, and intangible heritage with up to €10,000 each. The initiative also provides seminars for better program execution and plans a conference to discuss tradition and evolution in the Cyclades, showcasing its commitment to safeguarding and celebrating this rich heritage.
