Under the glittering lights of Asteria Domus in Glyfada, the Toques D’Or 2025 once again crowned the finest restaurants in Greece on Monday, March 10. An evening of high gastronomy and artistic flair unfolded, blending the worlds of haute cuisine and high fashion under the thematic concept “Elective Affinities”. The ceremony culminated in an exquisite dîner de gala, paying tribute to the fusion of culinary mastery and creative expression.
Celebrating its 32nd year of rigorous evaluation and in-depth documentation of Greece’s fine dining scene, the Toques D’Or awards confirmed that the country’s gastronomy continues to reach new heights. A total of 45 restaurants were honored, with their chefs and restaurateurs proudly receiving Greece’s most prestigious culinary distinction.
The Best Restaurants in Greece 2025
For the 13th consecutive year, Etrusco in Corfu was named the Best Restaurant in Greece, achieving a remarkable score of 17/20 and earning two Toques D’Or. Close behind, Botrini’s Athens and Delta shared second place with 16.5/20, each also receiving two Toques D’Or. This marks a historic first: never before have three restaurants simultaneously been awarded two Toques D’Or at the same ceremony.
The Aegean and Ionian islands, as well as Halkidiki, once again dominated the awards, with 24 Toques D’Or heading to summer destinations. Leading the charge, Santorini claimed six awards, while Athens continued to affirm its status as a top gastronomic hub with 16 Toques D’Or spread across its finest restaurants.
As always, the rankings saw shifts. Three restaurants lost their Toques D’Or, while four moved up, and seven newcomers earned a place among Greece’s elite dining destinations. Among the emerging hotspots, Paros and the Peloponnese made a particularly strong impression, each welcoming two new award-winning restaurants to the list.
Evolving Standards & Rising Talent
The increasingly rigorous scoring criteria, introduced last year and also impacting the upcoming Greek Cuisine Awards (to be announced in April), have pushed restaurants and chefs to further elevate their craft. As a result, 23 restaurants received the Top Notch distinction this year—four more than last year—positioning them just one step below the coveted Toques D’Or. Notably, nine of these were first-time entries, a testament to the continuous evolution of Greece’s culinary landscape.
Among the special distinctions, Manolis Stithos was named Chef Pâtissier of 2025, while the People’s Choice Award went to Ex Machina, reflecting the public’s appreciation for innovative dining experiences.
Mykonos on the Rise: The Distinction of the Myconian Collection
Mykonos continues to establish itself as a beacon of fine dining, and this year, two restaurants from the Myconian Collection Hotels & Resorts made a strong entrance into the prestigious list of Toques D’Or winners.
The new entry Cabbanes at Myconian Villa Collection made an immediate impact, securing a 15/20 score and one Toque D’Or, confirming its place among the top-tier dining destinations on the island. With a concept rooted in refined Mykonian hospitality, Cabbanes offers a gastronomic journey that masterfully balances contemporary techniques with bold Mediterranean flavors.
Meanwhile, Baos at Myconian Korali Hotel reaffirmed its reputation by also earning 15/20 and one Toque D’Or. A long-established favorite of gastronomes visiting Mykonos, Baos continues to push boundaries with its inventive cuisine and impeccable service, making it a key player in the island’s evolving fine dining scene.
These two accolades further solidify the Myconian Collection’s status as a driving force in luxury hospitality and haute cuisine, blending authentic Greek culinary traditions with a global outlook that resonates with discerning travelers.
Where Haute Cuisine Meets High Fashion
The awards ceremony, hosted by Natalia Dragoumi and Konstantinos Aspiotis, transported guests through a captivating journey of fashion and gastronomy, exploring their shared inspirations and creative synergies. Six meticulously researched videos highlighted how these two global arts—culinary excellence and haute couture—have evolved in parallel from the 1970s to the present day.
Adding a special dimension to the event, internationally acclaimed fashion designer Angelos Bratis and award-winning chef Alexandros Tsiotinis shared insights into their respective creative processes. In a striking parallel, both described their work as an intricate blend of research, intuition, and craftsmanship—reinforcing the deep connections between haute couture and haute cuisine.
A Star-Studded Gala Dinner
The grand finale of the evening was the highly anticipated dîner de gala, masterfully curated by Karime López and Takahiko Kondo, the Michelin-starred executive chefs of Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Florence. The dynamic duo—partners in both life and gastronomy—designed a menu that merged Mexican vibrancy, Japanese precision, and Italian finesse, paying homage to the creative philosophy of their mentor, Massimo Bottura.
Their meticulously crafted dishes captivated the 300 distinguished guests, setting a new benchmark for the gala’s culinary prestige. Applause resounded not only for the guest chefs but also for Jean-Louis Capsalas, executive chef of Asteria Domus, and his brigade, who flawlessly executed the event’s gastronomic vision.
The stunning Asteria Domus, part of the Papathéoharis Group, provided a breathtaking backdrop for the awards. With its modern minimalist aesthetic and sweeping sea views, the venue added an extra layer of elegance to the most prestigious night in Greek gastronomy.
