The exhibition explores emotion, perception, and creation through visual deconstruction and experimentation with the most fundamental geometric shapes—the circle and the rectangle. Sharing the same creative space, the two artists embark on an investigative journey, analyzing their inner worlds at their core. Each, through their unique aesthetic approach, transforms simplicity into powerful artistic statements, unveiling the raw energy and structure that shape their artistic identity.
With his personal approach to minimalism, SIMEK’s work embarks on a journey of reduction, stripping away the unnecessary to reveal the essence of emotion and meaning. Each of his works maintains a delicate balance between addition and subtraction, with every shape and color carefully selected to evoke the intended emotion. SIMEK’s pieces invite the viewer to explore the intrinsic structures that shape perceptions and experiences. His minimalist compositions offer a personal perspective on the essence of simplicity and its profound ability to connect with the viewer.
In his new series, METASHAPES, SIMEK introduces a technique that combines sand and acrylic, creating a texture reminiscent of something organic. The rough feel of the sand reflects the natural texture of the earth, inviting a deeper connection with the raw elements of nature. The coexistence of these materials adds depth and naturalness to his minimalist compositions.
His abstract minimalist paintings draw inspiration from the circle—a symbol representing multiple meanings, such as eternity, wholeness, and perfection. From the circular orbit of our planet to the rhythmic flow of time, the radiant energy of the sun, the mystery of planetary movement, and the cyclical nature of life, each of his works reflects the powerful, perpetual cycle that guides existence. His artworks leave the viewer wondering and questioning the ultimate intent of the artist, inviting them on a deeper journey of discovery and understanding.
SOBER5083R’s style can be described as a distinct mechanical and formalistic approach, heavily influenced by his background in graphic design and his studies in electronic engineering. His geometric creations possess an abstract nature, designed with both instinct and precise attention to detail. Using a strict black-and-white palette, he creates multi-layered systems and experiments with the opposing forces of order and chaos, the lifeless digital world, and human emotion.
In this exhibition, he invites the viewer to examine the fundamental regularities of nature’s structures on both macro and microscopic levels and to compare them with those found within their own psychological world. SOBER5083R’s mathematical and algorithmic approach to artistic expression results in compositions of rectangles that emerge effortlessly from his subconscious, depicting an otherworldly sense of cosmic solitude, accompanied by a reassuring curiosity about the mystery of existence. His precise grid measurements contrast with vibrant brushstrokes, making the black forms on the white canvas come alive and pulsate. His creations express the fusion of the duality between perfection and imperfection.
