Jazz at the Museum Welcomes the New Year with “MelodHer”.

The much-loved concert series of the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation, Jazz at the Museum, returns in the new year with a performance by Ntinos Manos, Athanasia Manou and Niovi Kritikou. This year’s edition, entitled “Her Voice”, opens up new musical pathways by incorporating classical music, lyrical singing and other forms of artistic expression that highlight the timeless power of music. The performance “MelodHer” will take place on Friday, 16 January.

Double bassist Ntinos Manos and harpist Athanasia Manou join forces in a poetic and unpredictable duet, performing works from the 20th century alongside original compositions and lyrical improvisations. Together, they create a musical landscape rich in contrasts, colours and emotional intensity. Drawing on a wide range of references and expressive nuances, the programme embraces a broad spectrum of musical expression, from contemporary classical music to more introspective and personal journeys.

Through their collaboration with their friend, visual artist and art historian Niovi Kritikou, music is transformed into matter and form. Their musical compositions enter into dialogue with her artworks, which are inspired by their sounds and silences. Music becomes the driving force behind the visual creation, weaving a shared field of expression into a live, immersive experience where sound functions as narrative, connecting music with image and inviting the audience into a deeper encounter with themselves.
