Once again, Estée Lauder Hellas actively participates in raising awareness and promoting breast cancer prevention by illuminating the Dromeas sculpture (The Runner) in collaboration with the City of Athens, lighting it up in the symbolic pink color. This famous work by sculptor Kostas Varotsos has become part of this year’s campaign, continuing a long-standing tradition of illuminating landmarks since 2019. The Dromeas sculpture will remain illuminated until November 10, the date of the 41st Athens Marathon. This iconic and symbolic landmark is especially meaningful for marathon runners, as they pass by it on their route just before reaching the finish line.
For another year, Estée Lauder Hellas supports the Hellenic Cancer Society, contributing 1% of the total retail sales of all its brands throughout October to bolster the Society’s initiatives. This contribution aids in providing free mammograms in remote and underserved areas across Greece through a mobile mammography unit. To date, Estée Lauder Hellas has funded over 5,800 mammograms via this mobile unit.

Through our seven Municipal Health Clinics, we put this commitment into practice, regularly offering a wide range of preventive gynecological exams—including mammograms—free of charge for all residents, and conducting extensive public awareness campaigns.”
Kostas Varotsos added, “I am delighted that my work will contribute to raising awareness for breast cancer prevention, a cancer that is treatable with early detection.”
