The Cycladic Identity initiative of the Museum of Cycladic Art is organizing a conference on Tradition vs Evolution in the Cyclades: The Coexistence of Past and Future on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, at the Museum’s Auditorium.
Through thematic discussions, the conference will explore how traditional values and the cultural heritage of the Cyclades can coexist harmoniously with contemporary needs and sustainable development. These discussions will examine the challenges faced by the islands and the opportunities that arise from transitioning to an environmentally respectful economy. Questions will be raised about strategies and practices that ensure a balance between the past and future, while also amplifying the voices of the island inhabitants.
