20 panel discussions and 2 one-on-one conversations with speakers from Greece and abroad aim to address the most pressing contemporary issues.
From April 4 to 7, 2025, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), in collaboration with the WOW Foundation and the British Council, will host for the third consecutive year the WOW – Women of the World Festival, the world’s largest celebration dedicated to women, femininities, and non-binary individuals. WOW Athens seeks once again to tackle the most relevant issues surrounding the fight for gender equality, both locally and globally, and to amplify voices and stories that inspire and offer hope for a fairer world.
This year’s WOW Athens program features three keynote speakers: the “Bad Feminist” Roxane Gay, the acclaimed American author Carmen Maria Machado, and Thalia Mavros, producer of the feminist documentary series “The Principles of Pleasure.” The festival addresses crucial topics affecting women, femininities, and non-binary individuals worldwide – from domestic violence, sex work, and urban safety, to workplace sexism, digital activism, and educational taboos – across 20 panels and two one-on-one discussions featuring speakers from both Greece and abroad.
