Since June 1st, Zamāna has opened its doors on the stunning Aptera beach, right next to the award-winning Domes Zeen Chania. More than just a beach bar, Zamāna is a tribute to the value of time—named after the poetic Persian word zamān, which means time as the ultimate luxury, the here and now.
Zamāna is the result of a creative partnership between Domes and Lefteris Markakis, known for concepts like Synapsis Bar, The Clumsies, and World’s 50 Best Bars. Together, they envisioned a space of authentic, effortless luxury—a seamless blend of gastronomy, avant-garde mixology, and soulful experiences. The brand identity was curated by Vision Alphabet under the creative direction of Remo Masala, with a timeless and emotionally accessible approach.
At the heart of Zamāna lies a vibrant music program, with weekly sunrise rituals and sunset soirées featuring Afro House, Ethnic Deep, and soulful electronica sounds by world-renowned DJs such as ARODES, CAIIRO, and SAMM (BE)—crafting unforgettable moments against the Aegean Sea backdrop.
The culinary concept by chef Alkis Theocharidis is rooted in simplicity and seasonality. The menu creatively reimagines Cretan culinary traditions using local ingredients. At the bar, multi-awarded mixologist Filippos Tasoulas (Bacardi Legacy Finalist) introduces signature cocktails with local character—wild herbs, citrus fruits, and Mediterranean spirits—alongside a curated wine list featuring both Greek and international labels.
