A Red Symphony of Gastronomy and Wine Arrives at Hotel Grande Bretagne.

Hotel Grande Bretagne presents an extraordinary culinary experience celebrating two iconic pillars of Greek gastronomy: the tomato and the Xinomavro. On Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at the Atrium of Alexander’s Lounge, a six-course dinner will bring these elements together in a creative dialogue of flavors, aromas and stories.

Awarded Executive Chef Asterios Koustoudis creates a menu dedicated to a single ingredient: the tomato, a humble yet precious staple of Greek cuisine. Drawing inspiration from rare heirloom varieties grown with care for the hotel on the slopes of Mount Pateras, he presents the tomato in diverse culinary expressions, from traditional to imaginative, revealing its depth and character.

Each course will be paired with a unique expression of Xinomavro from leading local producers, thoughtfully curated by Head Sommelier Evangelos Psofidis. Guests will discover the many dimensions of this noble Greek grape as they journey through the country’s diverse wine regions where it flourishes.

Throughout the evening, the participating producers will personally introduce their wines, sharing stories and secrets, while grower Nikos Tsompanoglou will present his philosophy of natural cultivation and his deep connection to the land. Altogether, they will highlight the bond that unites cultivation, winemaking and gastronomy.
