Experience an authentic Greek dining journey at Panigyri, where tradition, sustainability, and gastronomy converge in a festive garden setting.
Opened in 2019 by Chef Fanis Maikantis, Panigyri in Fira, Santorini, offers an authentic Greek dining experience. In Greek, “Panigyri” signifies a traditional summer festival, often held in village churchyards where locals share food and wine. This festive spirit is mirrored in Panigyri’s garden, adorned with casual seating, fairy lights, and trees, creating a homely atmosphere. The menu showcases the best of Greek gastronomy, focusing on fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced locally in Santorini and the Aegean islands. The restaurant also employs sustainable practices by utilizing their own 2-acre organic garden, which opened in May 2022. Their daily breakfast includes fresh eggs, house-made sourdough bread, and Greek yogurt. Lunch and dinner feature Cycladic classics like seasonal salads, homemade pasta, slow-cooked meats, and fresh fish.
Panigyri’s chefs are experts in olive oil, using 16 varieties from different regions to enhance each dish. A highlight of the restaurant is its olive oil tasting experience, where guests are guided through a gastronomic journey of ten eminent virgin Greek olive oils, paired with fresh meze from their garden.
In the evenings, Panigyri transforms into a lively gathering place for both locals and travelers. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails, traditional music, and live events, all under the warm Santorini sky.
