A Historic Retrospective Exhibition of Ioanna Efthymiou Celebrating Thirty Years of Artistic Journey in Mykonos.

On August 6th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., the grand opening of the Retrospective Exhibition of internationally acclaimed artist Ioanna Efthymiou will take place at the enchanting venue of Myconian Villa Collection in Elia, Mykonos.

This retrospective exhibition marks thirty years of the artist’s creative journey, beginning in 1995 when she graduated with distinction from the Athens School of Fine Arts, under the mentorship of the legendary painter Dimitris Mytaras.

Since then, Ioanna Efthymiou has traveled the world with her works, completing postgraduate studies on scholarships at both the Royal College of Art in London and the Pratt Institute of Arts in Brooklyn, New York.

Efthymiou became known primarily for her portraits in the Pop aesthetic and for her exhibitions in London and Monaco on royal life. Notably, the British royal collection holds two of her portraits. She is also well known for her successful exhibitions in the Principality of Monaco, particularly her collaborations with Prince Albert of Monaco, which include exhibitions dedicated to Princess Grace and a Ferrari-themed exhibition at the Monaco Automobile Museum.

This year, Efthymiou’s retrospective exhibition celebrates thirty years of artistry, featuring distinctive portraits and various thematic units that define her work.

Famous figures such as Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein, Maria Callas, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, and Jackie Kennedy have been portrayed in her works, alongside exhibitions exploring the repatriation of the Parthenon Marbles.

Her artistic journey and Pop aesthetic, combined with exceptional technical skill, place her among the most acclaimed contemporary painters on the international art scene.

The retrospective exhibition at the magical setting of Myconian Villa Collection will run until the end of September 2025, and it promises to be a must-visit cultural event.

Ioanna Efthymiou is also the President of the prestigious international cultural institution “Maria Callas Monaco Gala & Awards,” which she founded and directs with great success in Monaco and other cities, honoring the greatest opera diva of all time, Maria Callas.

The institution is under the high patronage of Prince Albert of Monaco and has awarded numerous internationally recognized figures in the arts and philanthropy, including Monica Bellucci, Prince Albert, Princess Charlene of Monaco, Nana Mouskouri, Shirley Bassey, Plácido Domingo Jr., Maria Latsi, Klelia Hatzichristou, Katerina Panagopoulou, Mimi Denisi, and many others.
